Alcazar de Sevilla

Originally built in AD 913 as a fort, this is a fine example of Moorish architecture and only one of a handful that remain in the country. It has been extended by various monarchs right up into the 18th century and is now an impressive maze of stunning rooms and fabulous gardens. Tickets are €7.00 and do not include a guide, this is an extra cost.

Opening times are:

Winter (1st October- 31st March)

9.30am – 5pm Tue-Sat

9.30am – 1.30pm Sunday and public holidays

Closed Mondays

Summer (1st April – 30th September)

9.30am – 7pm Tue – Sat
9.30am – 5pm Sundays and public Holidays
Closed Mondays

Why should I visit?
The cooling patios and tranquil gardens are a great way to escape the heat of the city, and the building is pretty impressive too.
