Indian restaurants
If you’re getting a little tired of endless tapas or paling at the sight of more paella, do not despair. Seville is buzzing with restaurants serving up delicious dishes from across the globe – except, weirdly, Thailand, which is yet to be represented. Luckily, though, there food of India can be found in the heart of this beautiful, ancient city. There are a couple of good quality, authentic Indian restaurants in Seville, and both will satisfy a sudden craving for a blisteringly hot curry.

Shalimar
Shalimar (address: Calle Javier Lasso de la Vega, 9; telephone: 954 328 681) lies tucked away in the heart of the picturesque, historic centre of Seville, where it serves up a range of tasty, reliable curries and tandoori cuisine at reasonable prices. It is an especially good choice for vegetarians looking for a good meal out. The fantastic garlic, raisin, honey or coconut flavoured naan breads should not be missed; neither should the aloo chana, or the vegetable korma, which comes with a delicious dried fruit infused sauce. Shalimar offers a more sophisticated option for a night out in Seville.
Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant
Seville’s Restaurant Taj Mahal (address: Calle Luis Belmonte 2; telephone 954 420 952) is a beautifully decorated establishment which strives to offer its guests a taste of India. The restaurant is situated near the football stadium, opposite the Nervion Plaza Mall. The restaurant offers a good range of standard Indian fare in beautiful surroundings, with prices starting at around €3.50 for a starter-sized serving of samosas and €10-15 for a main course. Their prawn (gambas) rogan josh is worth trying at €12.25. The restaurant is ideally suited for a night out with a large group of friends, with friendly and relaxed service and good hot curries.
