Where to get laid?

So you’re travelling alone in this stunning city and are looking for a bit of male or female company. Well all you have to do is go out there and find some. Okay that may be easier said than done but where do you look? And more importantly how do you go about it?

Start The Night With A Cold Beer

Many Sevillano’s as they are known, like to start the evening off with an ice cold cerveza after work. There are lots of bars known as Cervecerias and these are where people congregate before hitting a restaurant or a tapas bar. People generally stand outside on the street propped up against old barrels which double as tables. What you find is the pavement full of people with drinks in hand, where one bar generally merges into another. This is where you can throw a few flirtatious glances or perhaps “hablo un poco Espanol” whilst you stand in close proximity to someone you like the look of. Here are a couple of great Cervecerias to start your search.

El Tremendo

Situated in the Santa Catalina district, it serves some of the cheapest beer in Seville. At only €1.00 a glass it gets very busy (not bad if you need a little “Dutch courage”). It has a mix of mainly young professionals and students so it’s a good starting point.

Bar Jota

Situated on Avenida Luis Montono this is another busy place that offers cheap beer to get your night started. The bar gets very busy particularly on Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings and the pavement gets packed with young people thinking about where to head to next. (This may be a good way to strike up a conversation with someone you fancy)

Head Out To Barrio de Alfalfa

This is a Mecca for young people wanting to have a good time. Head towards Calle Perez Galdos and the main square of Plaza Alfalfa and you will find a great selection of cheap bars that are generally packed to the rafters with people looking to have fun and party the night away. This is also where the students like to let their hair down. Here are a few of the best bars to try your luck.

La Rebotica

Situated on Calle Perez Galdos this bar specialises in “chupitos” (shots)  and has a selection of over fifty to choose from. It is a throwback to the 80′s that is complete with retro music and comic book covered walls. The shots have names like “orgasmo and  “cerebrito” and will set you back €1.20 a drink. This is the perfect place to get up close and personal, as you can imagine it gets pretty packed.

Cabo Loco

Again situated on Calle Perez Galdos, this is a small and intimate bar that gets pretty packed as the evening wears on. A cross between Caribbean meets Hawaiian, they specialise  in cheap cocktails that are not for the faint hearted.

Finish The Night At A Discoteca

Discotheques or clubs are open till 6 or 7 in the morning here and if you still haven’t managed to pull then this might just be the perfect chance. Some of them might be a little pricey so one of the best things to do is to follow the students or younger crowds and see where they end up.

Catedral

Situated just down he road from the Plaza Alfalfa  this is generally where all the students and younger Sevillano’s finish up. A small disco, it has a reputation for playing some of the most modern tunes and can get quite intimate.

Babilonia

if you cross the river using the “Puente de las Delicias” bridge, you will come to Los Remedios. At first glance it looks like a kind of warehouse district. However follow the parked cars and you will find the club. The bouncers on the door might be a little picky, but when you get in you will find a place with a  Moroccan feel complete with rustic furniture, candles and incense. There are several bars to choose from and is a great way to get to know someone a little better as there are more candles and seating at the back of the club. This has a good reputation as a meeting place so you could well be in luck. It is closed in late autumn and winter but remains open the rest of the year.
